Kathy Burgess, of Laneborough, won the massive payday by playing the $20 scratch-off game "$5,000,000 100X Cashword."

He chose to take the lump sum payment of $3.25 million rather than the annuity.

Burgess bought the ticket at Price Chopper's Market 32 at 555 Hubbard Ave. in Pittsfield. The store will get a $50,000 bonus for the sale.
